The Downtown Art Gallery, 400 Orange St, in downtown Titusville, is proud to present the art work of Featured Artist Jon Cave. A renowned fly fisherman, Jon has captured the love of the sport in his watercolor and acrylic paintings.
“Fins & Frames - a Splash of Color from the Fly Fishing Palette of Jon Cave”is on display from March 18 to April 11 with an opening reception on March 22 from 5 to 8 pm Jon is a professional fly-fishing guide, outdoor writer, photographer, an the owner of Performance Fly-Fishing Schools. He has traveled the world in pursuit of some of the most prized fresh and salt-water fishes. As an artist, he creates paintings that authentically capture the excitement of fly fishing and the beautiful environments where the fish are found. Jon says, “My paintings are drawn from that a wide range of experiences and interactions with fish and portray the specific exhilarating moments all fly-fishers have as they pursue a favorite species of game fish.” You can view Jon’s art during regular gallery hours Monday through Friday 11 am to 5 pm and Saturdays 11 am to 3pm. Sailing from Cocoa Village Marina at 10:00 am daily for a one hour historic scenic tour.. Green Gables, a living history museum and community education center built in 1896, is situated over 1 acre of green space on the bluff along the Indian River Lagoon. The volunteers of Green Gables at Historic Riverview Village, Inc. are working to raise funds to rehabilitate and restore this landmark transforming this “Forgotten Enchantress” to her former grandeur. This 127-year-old historic home represents Melbourne’s “Bridge to the Past”. Visit Green Gables to learn about the history of the Wells Family, generous benefactors who played a key role in the development of early Melbourne. Their vision and generosity gifted the area with Wells Park, the first Auditorium, the first library, establishing the first high school, and many more projects in the community, all of which have been enjoyed by several generations. We invite you to come and visit Green Gables and learn more about the architecture, the family, and our plans for the future. Tours are $10 each; children 12 and under are free. Celebrate Spring at the Downtown Art Gallery 400 Orange Street in downtown Titusville on Saturday morning, March 30th from 10 am to 3 pm. ”Art in Bloom” presents Gallery artists who will be will be there with their latest spring creations! Cool art demonstrations by Michael Boelke and Terry Cope. Both do acrylic paintings of local waterways, flora and fauna but in vastly different styles. Michael prefers a minutely detailed realistic view while Cope works in bold, semi abstract, highly textured paintings. Several artists will be setting up displays outside, bringing new creations in addition to their artworks in the gallery’s seven showrooms. Enjoy the art, the artists and complimentary spring time mimosas, lemonade and delectable cookies. The Gallery is open weekdays 11 am to 5 pm and Saturdays 11 to 3. In addition to a huge collection of beautiful Florida art by 17 local artists, the Downtown Art Gallery also offers custom framing service.
