Director of Jazz / Freedom in the Groove Host

Matt Heister recently made the decision to move back to his birthplace of New York from Florida, where he’s had a prolific career as one of Central Florida’s premiere jazz guitarists.

His career highlights include collaborations with major artists who reside in Central Florida, including duets with guitarist Larry Coryell, trio dates with pianist/bassist Richard Drexler, recordings and performances with bassist David Pastorious, and many engagements with saxophonist/flautist Dan Jordan.

In addition to a busy performance schedule, he also holds the positions of both "Director of Jazz", and on-air radio show host of the weekly jazz program Freedom In The Groove for radio station 89.5FM WFIT. His weekly show features modern jazz music and live interviews with special guests.
