Meet EJ Castor - WFIT Station Intern

WFIT is pleased to introduce station intern, EJ Castor.

EJ Castor is originally from northwest Texas. She left Texas two weeks after High School graduation and moved to Heidelberg, Germany. For the next year, she worked in the Heidelberg American community to pay for opportunities to travel throughout Europe.

Upon returning to the states a year later, EJ first attended the University of Texas at El Paso before transferring and graduating from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. With a BA in English and an ROTC commission, she began what would become a 20+ year career in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, EJ also earned a BA in Psychology  from St. Leo University and a Master's Degree in Science Administration from Central Michigan University. EJ was stationed in Texas, Louisiana, Honduras, Virginia, Florida, and Germany.  After Germany, she was assigned to the Special Operations Command in Tampa, Florida, where she eventually retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Post-retirement, EJ accompanied her then-active duty husband on two more assignments, first to Washington, DC and then to the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). While in the UAE, EJ had the opportunity to work for a local Emirate company; again, in several positions ranging from deputy program manager to executive support and marketing officer, and finally as office manager for the company's CEO.

Upon completion of this assignment, the Castors retired to Micco, Florida; where EJ eventually found her way to Florida Tech and the Global Strategic Communications Graduate Program.  This is where she was introduced to WFIT and became an avid volunteer, eventually being presented with the opportunity to host the International Student Spotlights and to complete a formal internship.
