Vote Smart Facts Matter SCPA's Thursday Topic

Please Come To -- Vote Smart: Facts Matter Tour Featured

Written by  Team SCPA

This event will be held Thursday, Oct. 11th, at 6:30 P.M. at VIERA HIGH SCHOOL , which is at 6103 Stadium Pkwy., Melbourne, FL 32940. This not our usual venue. It is just north of the Brevard Government Complex in Viera.

Mr. Richard Kimball, president of "Vote Smart" is hosted by the Space Coast Progressive Alliance, in cooperation with the League of Women Voters of the Space Coast.

The American Political Science Association honored Project Vote Smart as “The best source for accurate political information on the World Wide Web” (www.votesmart.org). Its Board of Directors has been a carefully balanced "Who's Who" of top political leaders of recent decades, who have been working to raise our nation's political discourse. Most of its staff are volunteers from across America, who work together in a non-partisan fashion to help educate voters with the best information available.

Richard is on "THE FACTS MATTER TOUR" around America. This event features his 50-minute, four-part, multimedia presentation on Voter’s Self-Defense, including:

1. The Founders’ fear of ignorance should they cast power out to the people.

2. Entertaining but dangerous political commercials and how they manipulate people emotionally instead of informing them intellectually.

3. The people’s acceptance of lies, and their crumbling right to the facts.

4. Demonstrations on how to defend your right to the facts, the truth and the reality that our democracy is so dependent upon.

Richard Kimball, President of Vote Smart, has a deep background in politics:

  • Political Science degree - University of Arizona
  • Staff Assistant to Congressmen Morris Udall
  • Deputy Press Secretary to Walter Mondale
  • Press Secretary to Daniel Moynihan
  • Arizona State Senator
  • Chairman of the Arizona Corporation CommissionDemocratic Nominee for U. S. Senate when Barry Goldwater retired, defeated by Mesa Congressman John McCain.

Please join us as we present free, non-partisan, in-depth information about current candidates, legislation and voting. Facts Matter.
As always, this event is FREE and open to the public.

This event will be held Thursday, Oct. 11th, at 6:30 P.M. at VIERA HIGH SCHOOL , which is at 6103 Stadium Pkwy., Melbourne, FL 32940. Again: this not our usual venue. It is just north of the Brevard Government Complex in Viera.
