Enjoy Culture, Entertainment, Food At Sixth Annual International Festival

The Sixth Annual International Festival is an opportunity to experience the culturally diverse student body on the Florida Tech campus.  The festival takes place Saturday, February 25 from noon to 5 p.m. at the university's outdoor Panthereum. Community singers, dancers and musicians join with Florida Tech international student organizations to present a colorful lineup of ethnic entertainment. Hand-made craft and food vendors will proudly offer their creations.

Like all major world-class universities, Florida Tech is dedicated to  "Internationalizing the Campus." International students now constitute 28 percent of the 3,587 students currently enrolled on the Melbourne campus. International education advances learning, builds understanding and respect among different peoples, and enhances constructive leadership in the global community.  International education by its nature is fundamental to fostering peace, security and well-being among all nations.

WFIT 89.5 FM Public Radio enthusiastically supports global music, culture and education.  Stop by the WFIT booth while perusing the festival and say hello to WFIT  Media Specialist, Michelle Walker. Michelle hosts the International Student Spotlight -a radio segment dedicated to celebrating the diversity of Florida Tech's student body.  Michelle is currently seeking international students to participate in this interview series. WFIT boasts a culturally diverse group of music program hosts, including Ras Michael of Roots, Rock, Reggae,Anselmo Baldonado of On the Latin Side, Rob Killam ofCeltic Tapestryand Blair Clark of C'est la Vie.

Among those also joining in on Saturday will be Florida Tech’s all-faculty rock ‘n roll band TWITCHY, the Caribbean,  Indian , African, Chinese, Saudi and United Arab Emirates Student Associations, Florida Tech College Players, the Saudi Student Union, and Florida Tech Belly Dancers and many more.
