Acclaimed soprano Samar Salamé will make her North American debut at a concert Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at Gleason Performing Arts Center on the campus of Florida Institute of Technology.

Tickets are now on sale and will make great holiday gifts!

The 4 p.m. concert will feature an operatic repertoire by Handel, Mozart, Puccini, Bizet and more, as well as popular standards by Bernstein, Gershwin, Weil, Webber and the Beatles. Salamé will also be joined on several songs by Florida Tech Music Program faculty members Eliza Healy Dopira and Kyle Knappenberger.

Proceeds from the concert will support scholarships and instructional resources for the university’s Music Program.

Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Salamé began her singing and music lessons at the Lebanese National Conservatory. She later moved to Naples, Italy, where she performed with the Neapolitan company Media Aetas and joined the National Conservatory in Rome, where she received her artist diploma in 2006.

That year, after six years in Rome, Salamé moved to Paris, where she currently resides. She is an active and well-traveled performer, working with and in major productions in London, Paris, Munich and Beirut.

Tickets for the Gleason show are available in a range of prices, from $45 to $75 per person. VIP tickets are available for $125 each and offer access to pre- and post-concert receptions and backstage, as well as the opportunity to meet Salamé.
