This camp will teach participants the hands-on skills necessary to create working prototypes of nearly any design they can come up with. The focus of this camp is on the practical application rather than theory of engineering topics.
Topics include:
machine shop safety, hand tools, basic power tools, using standard machine equipment, soldering, intro to CAD/CAM, and intro to welding.
Students will be required to have a basic understanding of English and algebra and must be physically able to operate machinery.
This camp is intended for students 14 years old and up, no prior machine shop experience is required.
Note:
Cotton clothing and closed toe shoes are required for every day of the camp.

- Machine shop safety
- Hand tools
- Basic power tools
- Using standard machining equipment (mill, lathe)
- Soldering
- Intro to CAD/CAM
- Intro to welding.
Over the course of the camp, students will each create a fully functioning RC hovercraft using the skills they have acquired, which they will get to take home at the end of the week. Students will be required to have a basic understanding of English and algebra and must be physically able to operate machinery. This camp is intended for students 14 years old and up, no prior machine shop experience is required.
