MARINE SCIENCE & COASTAL ENGINEERING CAMP

Dates: June 24-29
Times: 9AM-5PM
Ages Welcome: 10-18
 

Students interested in gaining experience in oceanography, marine biology, marine science, ocean engineering, and coastal environments. The daily schedule will consist of field trips, experiments, and demonstrations.

This camp is for students who are interested in gaining experience in the fields of oceanography, marine biology, ocean engineering, and coastal environments.

Some of the marine science topics covered will include: seawater chemistry, ocean acidification, anthropogenic impacts on marine life, sustainable fisheries, and plankton communities.

During the coastal engineering component of the camp, students will learn about topics such as: wave and current forcing, sediment movement, estuarine circulation, and shoreline morphology.

Students will take part in the construction of a remotely operated vehicles (ROV) which will be displayed during our family day on Saturday from 9-12.

Commuter Fee: This covers the cost of camp activities, transportation for field trips, daily lunches, and afternoon snacks.
Prices: $600.00

Resident Fee: This covers the cost of the above commuter fee, linens, lodging in the residence hall, breakfast and dinner, as well as overnight activities (e.g bowling, rain barrel construction).
Prices: $1,000.00
