A crowd of around 500 - leaders from the Space industry, participants of the International Space University program, or ISU, personnel from Florida Tech, NASA and other local Space Companies, as well as the general public - gathered this summer at the Gleason Center for the Performing Arts, on Campus at Florida Tech. The audience came to hear from speakers at the first TEDx event resulting from collaboration between the ISU, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, and the Florida Institute of Technology.

Early one overcast morning, WFIT General Manager, Terri Wright and I met up with a group of scientists and members of the Sebastian Inlet Sportfishing Association (SISA) at a marina near Sebastian Inlet.

More Americans fish than play golf and tennis combined and the state of Florida is ranked number one in total expenditures by anglers.

Blistered and bug-bitten, a group of conservationists reached their destination of Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge in southern Georgia, on Earth Day. The Florida Wildlife Corridor Expedition team set out back in January, at the southern tip of Florida in the Everglades National Park. They made their way up through the sunshine state on foot, by paddle and occasionally on horseback. Their goal has been to garner attention for a vision to link Florida’s already existing protected natural areas, to lands with the potential to be protected.
