Public Radio for the Space Coast

Mozart's Attic Sunday March 20th at 6:00 p.m.

Composer Dmitri Shostakovich, in 1950.
Deutsche Fotothek

Dmitri Shostakovich’s Seventh Symphony, written largely in Leningrad during the 842-day siege of World War II, is pure defiance. Until a few weeks ago, it was a piece of history. Now, suddenly, it seems timely and appropriate.

Different cities: same misery and heroism.

Leonard Bernstein conducts the Leningrad Symphony as our featured work this Sunday.
