In this edition of Coastal Connection hear about the new play The Follies by writer Stephen Sondheim. Some highlights include:

Terri Wright: Tell us all about the show?

Joan Taddie: This is a difficult show that really features many, many wonderful actors. It went on Broadway in 1971 and it was a very dark show … This show the Follies is about a theater called the Wiseman Theater … Existing in that theater is the memories of each of the ladies that have performed on stage in the theater.

TW: Well this sounds like a great show. There are 35 people in the show correct?

JT: Yes, 35

TW: I imagine it was quite a challenge to get them all up there and get them all up to speed and deal with dual personalities.

JT: One of the things they all had to do was tap and maybe Debbie can talk about all of that.

Deb Crisafulli: Tap is a very forgiving art … I grew up in a dance school family and just to have that joy to put tap shoes back on your feet is awesome; it’s amazing; I wish that for everyone, to experience something like that in their life.

Terri Wright held the position of General Manager at WFIT from 1998-2023.
