Public Radio for the Space Coast

Mozart's Attic Sunday November 28th at 6:00 p.m.

Wilhelm Furtwangler
NPR

Wilhelm Furtwangler was music director of the Berlin Philharmonic during World War II, and his political legacy is complicated — and not necessarily what you might expect.

He was also widely regarded as one of the greatest Beethoven interpreters of the last century, and we’ll have a rare live recording of him conducting the Eroica Symphony this Sunday.

Originally from central Massachusetts, Jay has called the Space Coast home for more than 30 years. He began his association with WFIT in the late '90s as a dumpster diver for office furniture in response to a broadcast plea for a new chair from a frustrated disc jockey. (WFIT has come a long way since.)
