Robot Love 3D: Art, Music + Love comes to the Foosaner Education Center in the Eau Gallie Arts District on Friday and Saturday, February 13 and 14.
Robot Love is a contemporary exhibit of creativity in it's many forms- Visual art, performing art, live music and interactive displays, often showing the connection between raw creativity, design, technology and innovation.
Robot Love began in 2009 with a one-weekend pop up exhibit concocted by a band of artists, graphic designers, marketing gurus, choreographers and other creatives in the Eau Gallie Arts District. The daring show thrilled culture-cravers young and old, with doctors and lawyers and professionals loosening up elbow to elbow with tattooed Dj's, knit-bombing grandmas and silver painted twenty something dancers. While some attendees exclaimed they "weren't in Melbourne anymore", the truth was the show creators were building the Melbourne they wanted to see and live in. The pop up show flashed again in 2010. Then, the core went their separate directions to explore the planet and launch their own endeavors. In 2015, Derek Gores Gallery brings the essence back together, with five years of wider reach.
Confirmed music acts include: SWIMM, Oranga Tanga, Konglom, Weep Rock and more. Full performance schedule available online at www.RobotLove3D.com.
A portion of event proceeds go to Club Esteem, the after school program for kids in one of Brevard's most challenged neighborhoods.
Hosting Robot Love 3D is the Foosaner Art Museum Education Center, Florida Institute of Technology. School President Dr. Catanese supports the blended approach of the show. "At the Florida Institute of Technology, we search for excellence in STEM+AM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Music and Art. This is education for the whole mind." Says Carla Funk, Director of University Museums, “The Foosaner Art Museum, Florida Institute of Technology is thrilled to host Robot Love. FIT students will love it! It’s an innovative event celebrating creativity. We’re always excited to introduce new audiences to the Foosaner Art Museum.”
