BRUCH Violin Concerto
COLLINS Short Symphony (World Premiere)
ELFMAN Serenata Schizophrenia

Young dynamo, Tomas Lopez, our 2015 Concerto Competition Winner will perform Bruch's stunning and popular Violin Concerto.  Rock-musician-turned-film-composer mega star, Danny Elfman has no trouble grabbing a listener's attention. This eclectic and exciting work is similar to a Concerto for Orchestra, giving each section of instruments a shot at the spotlight, from the piano solos of the opening movement through the mysterious "Blue Strings" and the stream-of-consciousness shifts of "A Brass Thing," where laid-back swing alternates in montage with more ominous rhythms.  Elfman's tour de force is an amazing work that will keep you on the edge of your seat.  The program is rounded out by a new work written by our conductor, Aaron Collins.

March 19th at 7pm The Scott Center
March 20th at 3pm Vero Beach High Performing Arts Center
