Alice Lestang Performs at Gleason Mar 25th

Florida Tech Music

Alice Lestang, the Paris Conservatory-trained soprano serving as Florida Institute of Technology’s Artist in Residence this spring, will perform the second of her three residency concerts on campus starting at 7 p.m. at Gleason Performing Arts Center.

The free, public concert features special guest Romain Louveau on piano. Lestang and Louveau will perform works by Hector Berlioz and Richard Strauss. They will later record an album of this repertoire at the Atlantic Music Center in Melbourne.

Lestang completed her master’s degree in 2015 at the prestigious Paris Conservatory. She began her vocal studies with Nobuko Takahashi in the northern French city of Lille, and then continued with Dina Grossberger at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels prior to entering the conservatory in 2010.

She is Florida Tech’s third Artist in Residence from Paris, following pianist Paul Anquez last year and percussionist Rémi Durupt in 2014.
