Irish Global Superstar Emmet Cahill Returns

Widely regarded as "Ireland's most exciting young tenor" and former principal singer of the international group, "Celtic Thunder," Emmet Cahill has been charming audiences all around the world.   Just one week after his St. Paddy’s Day Carnegie Hall debut, Emmet Cahill is returning to Brevard County for a single performance.  On Saturday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. Cahill will sing traditional Irish songs with the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra at the Satellite High School Performing Arts Center at 300 Scorpion Court, Satellite Beach.

The symphony program, "Emmet Cahill in Concert," will feature songs from the global superstar’s 2017 solo album, Emmet Cahill’s Ireland.  The album rocketed to #1 on the World Music charts for Billboard, iTunes and Amazon. The live concert and album offer a selection of songs from the classic Irish repertoire, including “I’ll Take You Home Again Kathleen,” “An Irish Lullaby,” “Danny Boy,” “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling,” and more.  The Irish tenor will also perform songs from select musicals.

Cahill, 25, hails from Mullingar in County Westmeath in Ireland. His musical journey began with a piano lesson when he was just five years old.  By the time he turned seven, Emmet had begun professionally training and later went on to win a music scholarship for high school in Mullingar. He spent the next five years intensively studying and playing music. At school he furthered his studies in piano, organ, violin and vocal training, but singing was always his true choice. He continued his education at the prestigious Royal Irish Academy of Music where he received a university degree in Music Performance.

Cahill was named ‘Irish Tenor of the Year ‘ by the Irish American Music Association in 2013. He recently signed a major recording contract with Sony Music USA and his debut album went straight to Number 1 on the world music billboard charts.   “Emmet Cahill’s Ireland” is comprised of beloved Irish classics and folk tunes from the countryside, with Cahill accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland.
