Math Camp Offers Fun & Real World Applications

The SIAM student chapter at Florida Tech is pleased to announce the third annual SIAM Applied Mathematics Summer Camp (for students in grades 9-12) and the first annual SIAM Junior Applied Mathematics Summer Camp (for students in grade 5-8). Each two-week program will consist of 3 hour daily sessions from Monday through Friday.

  • Game Theory and Strategy: Maximize your chances for success!
  • The Traveling Salesman Problem: Visit multiple friends in the most efficient way!
  • Image Processing: Learn how computers see!

Junior SIAM Applied Math Camp

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) chapter at Florida Tech holds this camp for eager young students to help them develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills through hands-on activities and real-world applications of mathematics.

 Ages 10-14

June 22-July 3

SIAM Applied Mathematics Camp

Students receive the unique opportunity to get hands-on experience at the cutting edge of modern applied mathematics and operations research, while learning valuable problem-solving skills and knowledge of the software language MATLAB, a favorite of engineering and technical companies as well as academia. Topics cover game theory and strategy, continuous optimization, image processing and speech processing.
