Project Enables Amateur Radio Contact with Space Station

Did you know you can use amateur radio to talk to astronauts in space?  Ken Ernandes is part of the team building the next upgraded communication station to be flown on the ISS this coming year. The program is primarily intended by NASA to promote STEAM in schools. There is an application process to get a scheduled school contact and he would be happy to work with any body on the application process.

Luiz Fernando Leal and Antonio Masturzo are Florida Tech students that want to put together a proposal for Florida Tech.  They plan to form a team and reach out to several local K-12 schools.  The Educational Plan for the proposal is for the University Students to teach the K-12 students about space flight related STEM areas.
