Mozart's Attic - Thursday 10:00pm

arturo.jpg

Mozart's Attic opens with Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, the mid-point in our cycle of the nine Beethoven Symphonies as recorded by Arturo Toscanini more than 60 years ago at the dawn of the vinyl LP era. Toscanini shines in this performance.

Other scheduled works include some dances and chamber music from 1600s England, Bach's Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor, Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, a fugal concerto by Gustav Holst, and a performance of Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms to wrap it all up.
