Franz Joseph Haydn

In his later years, Franz Joseph Haydn wrote a pair of oratorios that were partially inspired by the oratorios of G.F. Handel, with which he had become impressed during his recent visits to London. These are among his most masterful works, and we’ll hear the first of the two, The Creation this Sunday in a performance on period instruments.

Originally from central Massachusetts, Jay has called the Space Coast home for more than 30 years. He began his association with WFIT in the late '90s as a dumpster diver for office furniture in response to a broadcast plea for a new chair from a frustrated disc jockey. (WFIT has come a long way since.)
