Todd Kennedy

Program Director / Sound Waves Host

Originally from Boston, Todd Kennedy began volunteering at WFIT 89.5 FM in 1992 as a late night jazz DJ. In 1998 he was hired as Director of Operations and in 2004 he became Program Director.

As Program Director, he is responsible for formulating the sound of the station. His daily duties include managing broadcast communications, operating satellite services and broadcast automation systems. He is also in charge of overseeing all studio productions and digital editing.

He also plays an important role in coordinating fundraising materials, outreach events and underwriting activities. He trains and supervises community volunteers and on-air hosts, and has been seeing doing a little plumbing and vacuuming on the side.

Todd’s energy and great passion for music can be enjoyed every Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sound Waves, the show he has been hosting since January 2006.

Current Swell's In-Studio Sound Waves Session

Current Swell, a Canadian indie rock band from Victoria, British Columbia stopped by for a live in-studio session with Sound Waves on March 5.

The band has been described as being in the foreground of the "new roots" music front pushing out of Canada's west coast. Current Swell was generous to make some time for WFIT in the midst of an upcoming tour of USA/Australia/United Kingdom and European. Enjoy this great session.

Don Soledad In-Studio On Sound Waves

Guitar player, Don Soledad and Cajon player, Kevin Kornicki joined Sound Waves host Todd Kennedy for a great live session at the studio.

Their new album, Soluna, was just released in December 2012. It incorporates a mixture of traditional and modern flamenco.

Influenced by the sounds of downtown San Francisco, Soledad and his band create their music from those influences and a background in flamenco.

Chris Long's In-Studio Sound Waves Visit
