All Aboard Florida to Hold Public Meeting on Environmental Impacts of High Speed Rail, Nov. 12

I was contacted today by the Space Coast TPO about an important public meeting that Brevard County residents are highly encouraged to attend.

On Wednesday, November 12, All Aboard Florida will present a public meeting on the local environmental impacts of their proposed high speed rail project. The meeting takes place from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Cocoa Civic Center.

All Aboard Florida's proposed plans include an express passenger train between Miami and Orlando International Airport by 2017 with a route through Brevard County under discussion.

All Aboard Florida will present the results of  the required Draft Environmental Impact Statementrecently issued by the Federal Railroad Administration. The project's impacts on the environment including air quality, water resources, wetlands and protected species will be examined.

This is an opportunity for the public to share their thoughts and ask questions about the $2.5 billion private project. This meeting is being held and presented by All Aboard Florida.
