Florida Tech Monitors Tropical Storm Dorian

Advisory #9 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019

The university is carefully monitoring Hurricane Dorian, as the storm’s primary impacts remain offshore.

The university has canceled Melbourne campus classes through Thursday, including campus events. Faculty and staff are requested to return Thursday. Classes resume Friday. Residence halls remain open for those students who remained on campus and those returning to campus.

Student safety is the university’s primary concern. In any emergency situation, students living on-campus should follow the directions of representatives of Student Affairs, Residence Life, and Campus Security. Students should be thinking about their personal emergency plan.

In the event of class cancelations, suspended university operations, evacuations, or other actions, communication with the university community will be issued through a number of outlets:
