Groundswell Startups Partners with EDC to Bring Jobs to the Space Coast

BUSINESS MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The Moonshot Innovation Series: Prototype Edition is the first of several “Moonshot” initiatives made possible by a new partnership between the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast and Groundswell Startups. The 8-week, free incubation program supports startups with a disruptive hardware or software product. Deadline to apply is June 23rd. Applicants must have an existing prototype of some kind. This opportunity is free and open to the public.

Prototype Series Application

This series is open to anyone committed to building a disruptive hardware or software product. Applicants will informally pitch their concepts June 29. Groundswell mentors will select 12 candidates to receive individualized mentor support each Wednesday for the next 3 months. Companies will walk away with a finalized pitch deck, executive summary, a vetted financial model and pro forma.After months of preparation, six select companies will showcase a final pitch deck in front of accredited investors from across the southeast. The winning pitch will walk away with a no-strings cash prize and awards totaling $2,000. Hardware and software companies across the county are invited to share in the festivities and set up booths throughout the tech village.

Partnerships launched by the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast bring laser-focus to increase access to manufacturing, technology development, and business development in Space Coast, FL.

High tech companies and startups may apply to receive intensive technology support and work one-on-one with NASA experts. Companies may also apply to work alongside Fortune 500 business consultants, serial entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists who offer free business support to finalists of the Groundswell Prototype Challenge. The final winner of the Prototype Challenge will receive a $2,000 cash prize.  Deadline for applications is midnight June 23rd.
