Funk Museum Presents Knitting and Embroidery Gone Rogue
The Ruth Funk Center for Textile arts will host a new exhibit Knitting and Embroidery Gone Rogue along with their main exhibit Forced to Flee, a juried showcase of quilts. The theme of this exhibit is addressing the global refugee crisis. To celebrate the opening, there will be a gallery talk by Dr. Susan Beryl Marks on Saturday May 25th at 1:30 pm at the Ruth Funk Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Additionally, local quilters will be selling their donated quilts in an event titled Not Your Grandma's Quilt on Saturday May 25th from 2:30 to 4 pm. A generous donor has offered a $10,000 matching grant for funds raised during the sale. There will also be a raffle to help meet the match.
