Rockin' On Sound Waves With The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Saxophone player Tim “Johnny Vegas” Burton and guitarist Lawrence Katz from The Mighty Mighty Bosstones joined Sound Waves host Todd Kennedy for a wicked good time at the studio. Originating from Boston, the Bosstones have been on the music scene for over 25 years. They specialize in creating an energetic show for their audience with a unique mix of heavy metal and ska music all in one.

The Bosstones talk to us about how they came to be and what their music is all about. The band also talks about the recent Florida Tech Homecoming activities they were a part of, and how Burton got his “Johnny Vegas” nickname. Enjoy this lively interview and get a taste of one of rock’s most prolific bands.

Originally from Boston, Todd Kennedy began volunteering at WFIT 89.5 FM in 1992 as a late night jazz DJ. In 1998 he was hired as Director of Operations and in 2004 he became Program Director until his retirement in 2022.
