Introduction to Dragon Boating
The Heart and Soul Dragon Boat Club is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Brevard County with the mission of spreading the word about the sport of dragon boating. The Club was formed by breast cancer survivors who later opened up the club to all with the focus on physical and mental wellness. The Club is holding a free Introduction to Dragon Boating session on Saturday, September 11th that is open to the public ages 18 and up. The event will be held at Oars and Paddles Park in Indian Harbour Beach and begin at 4:00PM. Paddles and PFDs are provided. Those interested in participating can visit the team’s website at www.heartandsouldragonboating.org or the team’s Facebook page at Heart and Soul Dragonboat Paddlers or email membership@heartandsouldragonboating.org to sign up.
Dragon boating is the fastest growing water sport in the world. Each human-powered watercraft is either a 10-person or 20-person boat and race distances typically vary from 200 meters to 2 kilometers.
