The Space Coast Weavers & Fiber Artists will meet at 10 am on Saturday ,July 22, at the Merritt Island Public Library, 1195 N. Courtenay Parkway. Visitors are encouraged to bring their latest fiber projects for show and tell

Fonda Haddad from Mims will hold a workshop "Macrame. It's Knot Hard”  Participants will knot a cord with a ring for keys or bring a pendant to create. necklace  Then you can choose to make a macrame towel ring or bring a small pot to make a hanging planter. Fonda has been creating and teaching fiber arts for 20 years including dyeing batiks, basketry, macrame and gourdwork.

Fee for the workshop is $15 but the meeting is free and open to the public.
Since 1983 SCW&FA has been Brevard’s go to guild for fiber arts: spinning, weaving, basketry, knitting, rug hooking, and more.  The guild helps fiber artists, beginning or advanced, learn through workshops and the informal exchange of ideas. They also work to educate the public about the fiber arts.   For more information on ther guild and what to bring for the workshop, call Jeanie McCormack at 321-266-1610.
