Sound Waves

Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Since January of 2006, radio listeners on the Space Coast have been enjoying Todd Kennedy’s great music selection on Sound Waves. The show carries a lively mix of contemporary music, independent labels and rock classics. Sound Waves is also one of the few programs on the Space Coast that features live, in-studio sessions and interviews with local and national bands.

Enjoy Sound Waves, your source for new and independent music, online or on your dial at 89.5FM, Melbourne, FL.

It's already January 31st?  This wintry month flew by, but we heard a bunch of great new music.  Here's our playlist of some of our favorites released this month.

Tune in to our annual Sound Waves Top 25 Albums of 2019 on New Years Eve, December 31 10am - 2pm.

2019 will go down as a tumultuous year. From scandals to trials, to whistleblowers to trade wars, the year was loud, divided and confusing.  One of the most powerful hurricanes ever recorded in the Atlantic ravaged the Bahamas for days this summer. Close to us, WFIT lost two long time colleagues this year, Jack Garrison (DJ Sandman) and Bill Carrigan, host of Classics for a Sunday Evening.

The founder of Surfing Santas, George Trosset will join Sound Waves this Friday 12:10pm. We will hear how a small family gathering on the beach at Christmas time has become one of the largest collections of Surfing Santas in the world. And we’ll hear some live beachy Christmas songs by Sam Sims who is one of the musical performers at the Surfing Santa event on Christmas Eve morning in Cocoa Beach.

We finally got some "Fall" weather on the Space Coast in November, and we got some great new music.

The weather stayed hot but we still got a bunch of new music in October.
