In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Florida Tech Athletics will be hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Day during its various home events this Saturday, Oct. 10. All fans are encouraged to wear pink.

Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women and 2,150 men in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer. As a result, many of those on campus have been affected either directly or indirectly. Come Saturday, the Panthers would like to recognize both survivors and fighters who are able to attend one of three home games scheduled this weekend:

Volleyball vs. Tampa at 4 p.m. at Clemente Center
Football vs. West Alabama at 7 p.m. at Florida Tech Panther Stadium
Women’s Soccer vs. Embry-Riddle at 7 p.m. at Rick Stottler Field

If you know of anyone currently fighting breast cancer, or anyone who is a breast cancer survivor and is interested in being recognized at either of the games, please e-mail their name and contact information to Ryan Jones at jonesr@fit.edu by 12 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9.

Tickets for home regular season women’s soccer and volleyball games are $7 for general admission and $5 for seniors ages 65 and above, youth ages 5-16 and non-FIT students with school ID. Children ages four and under and FIT students along with faculty and staff plus one guest are free with school ID.

Tickets for regular season home football games are $16 for reserved seating. General admission is $12 for adults and $6 for seniors ages 65 and above, children ages 5-16 and FIT employees with school ID. FIT students with ID and children ages four and under are free.
