Panthers to Host Breast Cancer Awareness Day
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Florida Tech Athletics will be hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Day during its various home events this Saturday, Oct. 10. All fans are encouraged to wear pink.
Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women and 2,150 men in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer. As a result, many of those on campus have been affected either directly or indirectly. Come Saturday, the Panthers would like to recognize both survivors and fighters who are able to attend one of three home games scheduled this weekend:
Volleyball vs. Tampa at 4 p.m. at Clemente Center
Football vs. West Alabama at 7 p.m. at Florida Tech Panther Stadium
Women’s Soccer vs. Embry-Riddle at 7 p.m. at Rick Stottler Field
If you know of anyone currently fighting breast cancer, or anyone who is a breast cancer survivor and is interested in being recognized at either of the games, please e-mail their name and contact information to Ryan Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org by 12 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9.
