This year a radio tradition continues - stories from the NPR archives that touch on the meaning of Christmas. David Sedaris, Bailey White, John Henry Faulk--these and other NPR voices, past and present, tell stories of the season.

The Acid Test Holiday Show 10pm

Festivo AltLatino With Cantigas 9pm

Festivo Alt.Latino is a special holiday concert featuring the 20 piece choral ensemble Choral Cantigas. This musical performance also includes stories about holiday traditions and cultures. Hear a traditional Peruvian Christmas carol, folk music from Brazil, Spain, and Mexico plus Parrandas from Venezuela and Puerto Rico. Hosted by Felix Contreras.

Christmas With The Morehouse & Spelman Glee Clubs 10pm

The choirs of Morehouse and Spelman Colleges -- two of the most prestigious historically black institutions in the nation -- get together to present a spine-tingling concert program. This year's program features the best works of the last several years. It's a joyous celebration of the schools' tradition of singing excellence, with their trademark mixture of spirituals and carols. Korva Coleman hosts.

Jazz Night In America 11pm

Jazz Night in America brings you holiday classics from their past five seasons – featuring fresh arrangements and entertaining storytelling recorded live from Rose Theater in New York City. You'll hear the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, plus special guest vocalists Catherine Russell and Kenny Washington.

New Year’s Eve, December 31

Toast Of The Nation 8pm – 12am & 12am – 4am

Toast of the Nation is festive jazz you can party to, all night long, even on lockdown. With an exciting line-up of artists all recorded during the pandemic. Hear sets from The Catherine Russell Trio recorded at Dizzy Club at Jazz At Lincoln Center in NYC, The Jazz Gallery All-Stars, recorded at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, KOKOROKO, recorded at Royal Albert Hall in London and Pink Martini, recorded in Portland, Oregon.

Originally from Boston, Todd Kennedy began volunteering at WFIT 89.5 FM in 1992 as a late night jazz DJ. In 1998 he was hired as Director of Operations and in 2004 he became Program Director until his retirement in 2022.
