Forty Years of the Foosaner Collection

A Look Back: Forty Years of the Foosaner Collection will open to the public on Friday evening, June 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and remain on view through November 3, 2018.  The exhibit opening corresponds with our monthly Jazz Friday concert featuring Carl Lewis which takes place on June 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Foosaner’s Harris Community Auditorium.

As a collecting institution, the Foosaner Art Museum houses nearly 5,000 objects of art.  To celebrate our fortieth anniversary, this exhibition features a selection of favorite objects from our permanent collection including works on paper by famous Pop artists Jim Dine, Robert Rauschenberg and John Chamberlain; contemporary landscape paintings by Larry Leach and Ted Waddell and stunning portraits of the ballerina Anna Pavlova made by the German Impressionist Ernst Oppler.  Abstract works by local favorites Frits van Eeden and George Snyder also will be displayed alongside ancient American pottery and Art Deco industrial arts.
