Now in our 17th year, the Conradina Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society is proud to showcase native plant landscapes in the Indialantic and Melbourne Beach area of Brevard County and at the Barrier Island Sanctuary (https://brevardlandscapetour.org/barrier-island-sanctuary /). Our purpose is to provide education on the numerous native plants in Florida that can thrive without the use of irrigation or fertilizers. We are also partnering with local artists to showcase the beauty and importance of native plants. With over 1,000 people moving to Florida each day, many residents don’t realize the harm done to our wildlife & waterways by the maintenance of non-native and invasive plants.
All tour ticket holders ($15 per ticket) will receive a free native plant and access to our 1st Annual Conservation Fair in Orlando Park [1000 South Ramona Avenue, Indialantic, FL 32903]. The Conservation Fair itself will be free, open to the public and include our sponsors, nonprofit organizations and local artists highlighting the beauty of nature! Call for fixers and tinkerers! Current search for those who would like to support Recycle Brevard on November 14th. The event "Recycle Brevard Fix It" will be promoting reuse and recycling while giving a second change to a broke item that may be on its way to the landfill. This is a free event to the public. If you are able to support this event or have questions you can register on the events page at Recyclebrevard.org, email events@recyclebrevard.org or register via the QR code on the event flyer. Residents hold on to those broken items while spring cleaning!
The purpose of our event is to promote Reuse and Recycling - promote fixing things to enable reuse while offering the opportunity to also recycle items.
Community members will bring their items to the event so they can be mended, adjusted, calibrated, repaired - fixed! That way items can continue to be used and not sent to the landfill.
For that to happen, we need VOLUNTEER FIXERS to join us to share their talent and expertise to help community members get their items fixed. Fixers will NOT be asked to provide parts.
Are you a tinkerer, amateur or professional fixer willing to help us in this effort?
Please fill in this form and submit an application. We will review all applications and reach out to you to discuss details.
If you have any questions before then, feel free to contact us at events@RecycleBrevard.org.
